“I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich” (Revelation 3:18). Jesus calls us to a great quest for spiritual riches, specifically, “gold tried in the fire”—faith in God and knowledge of God refined and proven in challenging, intense life-tests. In our hottest crucibles, we confess with Job, “When he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold” (Job 23:10, NLT).
